my 2012 knitting summary! :)

I am so happy to gather all pictures of my work in 2012 together in time before 2012 is leaving soon!!!!! 
So thankful this year I had so much opportunity to knit so many although I didn't knit DAILY! but hey this amount of knitting not too bad, rite?! (actually i still have 2 projects for myself couldn't finish in this year! :(..... well well well)

I think most of you still enjoying the warm home sweet home xmas holiday right now.... maybe drinking hot chocolate eating gingerbread or eating xmas pudding or got drunk & sick!?!?! ahahahaa

Macaron x Bunny variation

Macaron again! Bunny again! Mint Color Again!

I was trying to create something fun! This is the one of them! :P I love it! hahahah But afterward I was busy so I couldn't continue to do more from it!!!!

Mulled Wine (Glühwein)

Mulled Wine(Glühwein in German)is a hot red wine cooked with spice. My first taste of Mulled wine was.... 4 years ago in Christmas Market @ Vienna, Austria. Wow, after this, I fell in love with it very very much!!!  

I bought a lot of instance mulled wine mix in Austria before but this Xmas is run of out stock. So it is time for me to cook the REAL one!!! hehehe

Here is my second round of this year!!!!!  
So I would love to share with you here! wahahahaha

Kraft Hunting Thursday - DIY

I only posted once on this title of "Kraft Hunting Thursday" before... ok, let's continue today! :P

Today, I found this lovely video to inspire you to re-create your old things to New.

In this video, it is showing you how to DIY your "classy" boring sweatshirt into Baroque-look! 

If you don't like the pearl-bead, you can add some triangle stud, or even star stud instead!!! Let's try to create your own!!! 

BTW, love this video!!! Hope I can make video like this in the future! ;)

Matryoshka Doll Keychain

I made this for my dearest sister who time-to-time would forget to bring her key! LOL

I thought ok... let knit a keychain holder for her & think Matryoshka doll is one of the popular icon for craft making beside like bunny, bear, owl,.... hehehe

I tried 3 times to reach this final shape... I knitted it in ROuNd & from bottom uP. When I was knitting to shape the head part... at the first 2 times didn't look right... then I tried to decrease 1 row with 2 knitting rows... then decrease again... That's it!!!! Look right finally! hahahah

I also did the lining in Purple with white polka dot.

Luckily I have the right color of purple in ribbon & facet bead! Yeah!

Baby bear

Why I made this baby bear way back in July?

Because my friend aka my customer whose sister (@Canada) is expecting a baby but at that time not known the gender yet! However, she wants to get one knitted doll for her sister to bring back to Canada. So we both decided to make a bear & with yellow color for more neutral! :P

um... my friend hasn't updated me if her sister is having a boy or sister! Let me ask her when I'll see her next week for our Gals' Xmas Dinner! XD

Another elephant! 

As I said yesterday this one is a for a lady, my buyer's girlfriend. So, I made a trick that is the nose I made a HEART Shape! ahhahahah so look like she is giving a kiss! LOL

She is flying away tonight so excited and hope my buyer's gf would love her as I do! :)

Little dress for a little one?!

I was thinking my 2nd half of the 2012 have not knitted too much... but when I made a list of what I have been knitting in 2012.. WOW... very impressive! LOL

This one I finished recently.... this little mint dress again I use the same lace as before but I tried to use one tone with a little touch of white instead of top in white, bottom in mint. Then I can add a little white tag on the dress with the name on it! What do you think?

For the headpiece, same as before. This time the end customer is a lady so I used a pearl button to enrich the look! :P

Hey, where is the owner of this dress????? Revealed later :D

Little Elephant k in Oct 2012

I made this elephant in Mint color (organic cotton).

The dress & headpiece are mixed with Lite Lilac, white and a bit of pink.

Overall, I am happy with her and esp I like the dress is without button & an initial of my final customer,a 1-yo girl, K. :)

One more elephant girl is on the way to show here!

My New Project Bag

Yesterday I went to a cosmetic shop looking for eyeliner only! Of cos as a woman,... would love to walk around and see new things in the shop. 

I saw this set, from Decleor! 1) I used this brand before and think ok I can buy again. 2) This BIG bag also attracted me a lot & think ... um... I can use it as my project bag. So.... heehehe BOUGHT IT!

Knitting Projects for 2013

Time flies... another year is ending soon! 2012 is a bad year for our family... hope 2013 we all are in good health!!!!!! 

I have so many ideas on knitting & crochet that I want to do all these projects within 2013. But how I can be sure I can do them all. Some are small projects and some are maybe too big for me. JUST WANNA do them all!!!!


I am making my Project List! LOL

My bf and I had a short holiday at Sabah, Malaysia. We picked a Pool Villa Resort, Nexus Resort Karambunai Kota Kinabalu. The private pool is good enough to swim in and the nice quiet beach!!!! Just so shame only had a 4 days 3 nites trip... just not enough to relax....

I brought a crochet project with me this time, something NEW for me. My bf said that I was totally relax when I was doing my crochet! 

YES, I DO!!!! 

Now just back to work and already many negative things .....

Really want to have longer longer longer holiday & my knitting!!!! 

I will go back here more often as I did!

Making of: My First SHAWL

I saw many knitters make shawls, so many patterns & many shapes like triangular, square, semi-circular, circular & heart-shaped. 

My hands are so "itching" for shawl knitting! :P

Now I am picking up the triangular one & give it a try!!!!

I found this one on ravelry.com... a basic stocking stitch on the main body and some leaves lace on the edge.

The instruction said that using Crochet Provisional Cast on... I searched on YouTube... but at the end I chose to use the Garter Stitch Tab instead. I think this method is more handy! :P 

For Color: I found that Mustard color is a really nice fashion color... even I searched specific mustard color fashion on Pinterest! ahahahah So I tried this shawl with it! I am so excited about it!!!!

Red Wild Mushrooms

I haven't been blogging and even posting here & FB for more than a month...

The last 2 months were the most horrible period in my life. I have gone thru knowing my mum had a brain tumor, brain operation, chemo treatment, and ...she left us.... ALL PACKED IN ONE MONTH! WTF!*(#$#*#%&~))!(*$%&&% It is totally NOT easy to face it! 

BUT I still have my dad and my sister,... and my mum's mother (our grandma)& our auntie,etc... Since my mum was in hospital, I started to replace my mum to work with my dad... and now have been working for 2 mths, things are getting along but it would be still hard to telling customers my mum has passed away...

Last week, when I was at a bank, the teller asked me where Mrs is.. and I said my mum has passed away. I saw her eyes immediately turned red and my tears started running out...

well well well... stop telling you the sadness of mine... Let's talk something more cheerful as Life must go on!

I have been asked for pricing and custom-made but usually no response after quotation! XD (the orders I had before were all from my friends or my sister's fds). The day my mum left, I got my REAL first customer as she said that she paid me deposit for the Snowwhite bunny. When I saw that email I didn't know it is a good news or bad... as I told her that I need 2 weeks... so I started to make within the 2nd week as the first week was totally sad and tired... 

(actually 2 hours before I got a phone call from hospital on that early morning, I was knitting for another customer,.... and I should continue it NOW)... sorry, michael!!!

Then last week, my sister told me that her friend saw the Red Wild Mushrooms Pencil Topper from my FB page! She loves mushrooms and wanna know if I would sell it... so I made as her request, set of 3.... 

Here we go...

Now I am hoping that my family and myself are all in good health and recover from our lost soon.... and can be really happy for the rest of our life!!! Of cos I also wish all of u happy and healthy! ;)

SnowWhite Bunny

I haven't blogged here for a while... as recently there are somethings consuming me a lot of time....

My customer requested 3 knitted dolls for her family and friend's baby & daughters... so I made 3 totally different styles for her... 


Now I am presenting to you is SnowWhite Bunny! :)
This little fellow will be a 2-years old girl's new friend!!! hoho

SnowWhite Bunny with this long & softy ears is made with 100% Organic Cotton!!!! Her pinky-wrap-lace dress is also made with 100% Organic Cotton. The headband she is wearing that is made with 2 layers of flower and 3 little pearl-look beads!!!

Is she adorable?!?!!? :P

Ok, I am very sleepy now!!! I really need to sleep as still have a lot for me to do tomorrow: (Sat) "Ouch >.<"

My Photoshop Tuesday

I practice Photoshop by doing as I didn't learn it proper & I hate reading those "phonebook size" self-learning/ for dummies textbooks... so just learning by observing or asking colleagues & Mr. J so I am still at kindergarten level! XD

I like sitting next to Mr. J when he is doing sthg on PS. Then I would go back and try those technique... and sometime found out sthg new by myself and I would be very happy! (so naive!!!)

Usually, my procedure is:  

1) Take photo with Natural Sun Light(If in the morning and/or sunny day, otherwise with my desk lamp XD)& usually I like to use a white big cardboard as a background. 

2) after taking the photos I want, then I choose the best ones;

3) open it with Photoshop on my computer;

4) adjust the brightness of the photo;

5) then make a background frame(my preference);

6) then trying something out on PS... 

Today, I try out this....

Filter > Artistic > Cutout

can try out different styles to choose what u want

Tell you a secret! Before I practice my drawing and photo editing on PS, I used PowerPoint to make drawing... people couldn't realize I used PPT to draw!!! wahahahahaha

When Mint meets Lilac Again

When Mint meets Lilac Again...


Recently I am crazy with the color of Lilac and Mint!!!!! I found when they combine together, they look so good together!!!! :)
So, I put them together again like this!!!! 

Unfortunately the Mint Bunny has been taken to her new home, so I cannot put them together and take photo..... anyway!!! Hope the new family loves her!!!! ^.^

Crochet a flower brooch

This is a quick project! 

After you made 3 different sizes flower.. then stack and sew them together... look pretty already, 

but add a pearl, bling bling or even a button on the middle, it will look totally different and upgrade a lot! :)

Don't forget add a brooch pin at the back so can wear it on cloth, bag, hat, or even on your pencil case! :)

Baby Bib: Knit + Crochet

Searching on Ravelry.com.... can give me many ideas, references, patterns.... but sometime too much to choose.... 

Recenlty I was searching baby bib....  but at the end I made my own version! Hope it works on a baby girl! ahahahah 

1. Start with Knitting a square 15cm x 15cm (approx.) in Stocking sts;
2. Single crochet (sc) around the rim;

3. [Double Crochet (dc), chain (ch), Double Crochet] repeat *in 3 sides only;

4. [(dc1, ch, dc2, ch, dc3, ch, dc4, ch, dc5), sc] repeat

5. chain 45 and make 3 rows of sc... add a button hole at the end.

Oh I used the 55% cotton & 45% polyacrylic, Yarnart Jean. It is very soft and easy to knit & crochet with! 

I will try to make this crochet part in diagram... as I learnt that way.. I don't like to read crochet in words! How's about u? :P

My Martha Stewart Living Magazine(s)

I do order some eMagazine at Zinio... some reasons why I order there...
1. Cheaper to order an eMag than a hardcopy from overseas
2. No transportation fee
3. No piles of magazines at home
4. Can read and search on a device for any issue than find everywhere at home


but no fun that cannot flip around on paper! hahaha 


Recently I received a hardcopy from them! What's a surprise... but that issue I already have my soft copy!!?!?!? @.@


So, let me flip around with this hardcopy!  ahahahahhaa

Good Weekend

It's Monday again! How's your last weekend?


I had a great one... did a lot of entertainment things rather than knitting... haha 

Mr. J & I went to watch MIB3 (3D) movie.... It is a great movie but I hate at the end made me cry! ahahahah !_! If you haven't watched it, Go Go Go!!!! 


As we went to The Grand Cinema at Elements shopping mall so we bought some macarons @ LGB. :P


Last Sat was busy busy,... met a friend for coffee for catching up.... then met other friends for Malaysian food, yummy yummy. (I think it must be a famous restaurant as there were many people queueing up at 6:30pm already....)


Then we went to see the 2012 Cellistra Annual Concert!!!! More than 10 great cellists playing together and invited a school Handbell ensemble to perform too... great concert!!!! ^.^


and also did some reviewing & planning time today... Super busy JUNE!!!!!! haha 


PS: I am self-learning the Photoshop (PS)... so I retouch & play around all the pictures on PS now ! ahahahahah so much fun! ^.^

Crochet - 2-ways Blanket/Cape

Finally finished it!!!!!
The last one full day made 14 flowers and all sew up!!!! I underestimated the whole project working hours....er... anyway let's share the photos with you! ^.^

1. Test Out how to crochet the flower | 2. crochet the blanket itself, 4 rows pattern | 3. crochet all purple color part make sure I would not run out of yarn | 4. add the mint color part | 5. the white part (new skill I learn here! ^.^)

Weave in and trim out all the excess! @.@

Getting closer to completion, the color combination is so nice

1. Beside pin them first, also fold the blanket in half.. make sue 2 sides flower are on the parallel direction! ^.< | 2. Sew one button and crochet a chain on the other side

so now you can see a blanket & a cape! Look so beautiful! haha

It's me and just showing to my customer how it works!!! 

Hope my end-customer would like it! ^.^

Crochet on Glass Bottle: Elephant

When I was young, my parent's bedroom had a tall glass bottle with orange crochet dog.... (um... where is the picture of me next to it?!?!?)Let me ask my mum.... 


Anyway, so one day when I was drinking something.. and I looked at the glass bottle... immediately thinking I should make a crochet animal on top! So I tried this one!!!! 

Actually it was made a while ago... but as recently knitting elephants so thinking of this one! So want to share with you!!!! :) 

Can it inspire you to make something out of a glass bottle or even a wine bottle to create some cute little thing for decoration!!! ^.^

Organic Elephant 2: DONE

um... when did I start making this elephant? ... I think the elephant is not hard to make, but the outfit... lot of trimming... time killer... but hey I have finished it!!!! 


I thought I never make photo that can show their size for your reference. So today I made 2 photos that may help you know how big they are! :)
